Hi, I am Trevor and I am 11 years old. I have been doing Destination Imagination for two years now. I am on the Giant Flaming Marshmallows. My first year, our team came in sixth place. I would like to thank my team managers for all of their hard work. We got the DaVinci Award twice and we got first place twice. Our challenge was Cardiology. In Cardiology you have to build a card structure that can hold a lot of weight. My teams structure held  240 pounds. My last thing to say is that I DO DI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yo!  I am Tessa!  I'm 10 years old.  I'm a member of the Giant Flaming
Marshmallows!!!!! We won 1st place in regionals, along with a DaVinci
award, and we went to states!!!!  Then we won 1st place there, too,
along with another DaVinci award!!!!!
We can't wait until Globals, but we have to because we have to
fundraise $10,000!!!!  Last year was my first year doing DI.  That time
we were the Atomic Blazers!!!  Cool name, but we only came in 6th in
regionals, out of 10...  The fifth place team, one of the members being
my neighbor, beat us by ONE point!  Well, DI is
AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   You have to be creative and funny,
which we all LOVE doing!  Everyone on the GIANT FLAMING MARSHMALLOWS
has been GREAT!!!!!  And so have our team managers.  You know, you
should try
DI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello, I am Ryan I am 11 years old and I do DI!! I have been doing DI for 3 years now and it has rocked!! My first year our team came in 3rd in the South-Central region and we got the Renaissance award, pretty good for a first timer! My 2nd time through we came in 6th place (an iffy performance). And now for this year. TOTALLY AWESOME 1st place in regionals plus the Da Vinci award. Next the states, my first time ever and we won it and got another DaVinci award. Hopefully we'll fund raise enough money to go to Globals.  Wish us luck. We are The Giant Flaming Marshmallows. Also I'd like to thank our team managers, my Mom whose been manager for all 3 of my DI years and Mrs.Henderson whose been manager for two straight years. Also my team whose made it to the Globals. Hi all. I'm Mike and I'm 14. Pretty sweet no? I am one of the 7 members
who represent the team Teriyaki Chicken and Fries. Our first year we got
first at regionals and 3rd in states. Sweet. Keep your hats on. It gets
better. Last year, we got first in regionals. This was pretty joyous. So,
we go to states and what a hoot that is. We got first there too. Woah,
you're thinking. This is getting intense. What happened next. Well,
thanks to the magnificent town of Yarmouth, we flew off to Tennessee. Fun
in itself. And. O me o my. We got second. Now your thinking, wow. These kids
are narly. Who made up this amazing team. To that thought, I'll say it was
tim, dan, kevin billy, carle, sam and myself along with our awesome coaches
(aka my dad and carles mom) So that's why we do DI. probably not the best
description. But hey. It was creative. And isn't that what DI is all about?

Hi! My name is Lila Moore. I am 13 years old and my team "The Sundae Girls" came in first at state competition last year. Unfortunately, we declined the invitation to Nationals, but if we had gone, I know we would have been great! We had the funniest skit! And it was our first year! I want to thank all the team members Aurora, Emily, Lange, Sarah, Emma, Lizzie and our managers Linnea and Denise! We had lot's of fun!!!!

Kristen Powers, Age 11

I am from the Cape Cod Hill School of New Sharon ME. I do DI for many reasons but mostly because it is SOOOOO much fun! Not only does it show my creative side, but it shows my CRAZY and WILD side also. This is my first year in DI and I am already having an AWESOME time! My team went to regionals this year and we placed second! I was soooo excited and I can't wait to go to states on April 8, 2006. My team is also very excited! We get along great, and we can talk about anything, (since we are an all girl team). I want to congratulate all of the teams who have competed in DI already this year and I'm sure they all did a wonderful job. Thanks for reading this and I LOVE DI !

Hi my name is Amethyst and I am a member of The "Crooked Thinkers"  DI team. I am 12, almost 13, and will be participating for my second year.  Last year our team struggled, pulling out 4th place for our first year.  This year we hope to make some changes and go all the way!!

So why do I do DI?  For the same reason that all DI members do, for fun.  It is  very mind-stretching, and teaches you how to be a team-player.  You learn how to use communication amongst your team-mates and how to be able to THINK OUTSIDE THE BOX.  You use your imagination to complete instant challenges and creativity as well.  I enjoy DI very much, and I hope that everyone new this year gets a feel for it and does well!!!
 GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!!!!

Fiona,10,
I love DI! I'm the student manager on my DI team. I love how things are hard but in the end there is a solution to everything (pretty much everything). The team members are all so nice. This year(2005)our DI team made it to worlds in Tennessee. I'm so proud of them. For this team, there is no such thing as Murphy's law. I LOVE DI !!!!!

Korie, 15
I LOVE DI. I have done it since I was in fourth grade, with the same exact team. We're now freshman. We've been to world twice (soon to be three times) and to state five times. I think DI is amazing, because you put together every single element of creativity and theatre to create your completely original presentation. I also like the technical elements; I learned a lot of stuff about science through DI. In general DI is an AMAZING program and I think everyone should do it.

Avery, age 15
This was my first year doing DI, and it was a total blast. we placed 3rd in states!  I'd never heard of this program before, and I never would have if my science teacher Mr. Merrill hadn't said to me on the first day of school "look at this girl, she's bizarre!" and later said   "you really should come to our destination imagination meeting on Wednesday".  so I went, not having much idea as to what I was getting myself into.  it turned out to be one of the neatest things I've ever been involved in.  there wasn’t a single day where I didn't learn something.  I really gained interest in a lot of things I had previously not cared much about (like science) and learned a lot about architecture and the importance of basic physics (my challenge was DIsigning Bridges).  So why do I do DI? because it's a challenge. You have a chance to make some close friends and test your teamwork skills, you're allowed the risk of thinking outside of the box, and I've learned so much! I'm going to miss it until next year.  I challenge anyone who has any sort of hunger to exercise their imagination and risk making good friends and learning something to give it a shot.  I'm totally going to continue with this...and who knows? maybe we'll get gold sometime soon!!

Adam,age11
I love doing DI because I love to work with teams and I can show my creative side and I  love seeing the teams work and go to the tournament and we made it to states and this is my first year doing it and I will do it again next year.

John, age 13 says:
"Doing DI is creative and I enjoy the challenges we did this year. DI consist of team work and creativity and the Brunswick Junior High School showed it. I like DI because I do fun things with my friends like instant challenge. You also get to meet different people while you' re on a team. When going to the tournament, the team really enjoys seeing other people doing the same challenge. Even though some didn't place, the team enjoyed what they have done. The team also are very proud of solving the challenge that they performed. "

Janezcka, age 12 wrutes:
I DODI because it's fun and  because you get to meet people that you don't know . The team has to do lots of teamwork. You get to do arts and crafts, and one of the best things is parents can't help at all.

Michelle, age 12 says she does DI because:
DI is wonderful there are all types of challenges.  I got to be with all my friends in the team.  I loved watching the teams that we were competing with because they had really creative ideas that I could never think of!

Daneem, age 12 says...
I like DI because I've done it for four years. Every year I get to meet new people and get to know them better.  Our team gets more creative every year.  I love to go to the Celebrations because I get to see other teams and see how they do things differently from us.

Alison, age15, writes...
This year at regionals we had a blast, but didn't place. My team had a great time asking the other teams questions and making new friends. We won the scavenger hunt and some candy! Other teams said they were sorry we didn't win anything, and I said "What are you talking about? We won something more important than a plaque...we worked hard as a team, unleashed our creativity, and had a good time. That's all that matters to us..a trophy doesn't always make you a winner." And thats exactly why I do DI.

The Mt. Ararat Middle School Team says: I DO DI because...
It's fun!...I get to use my imagination!...It's interesting!...I get to do different things!... I get to build stuff!...It's creative!...I keep trying so I can make it to the State finals!

The Brunswick Junior High School  Cartoon DImensions Team Team says: I do DI because:
I wanted to do a fun after school activity that I could create things that cause me to use my head...
It's very fun and you get to meet new people and I like to travel...It is challenging and it's fun to be with other people I don't know...I learn something new everyday and it's fun, exciting, and educational...It's awesome and there's a lot of team work and you get to work with your friends...I can be more creative, have a lot of fun at the same time, and meet new people...
