The excitement is building, it's almost time!

Soon we will see the wonderful solutions our Maine teams have created to their DI Challenge!  Below is some information common to all Regional Celebration, scroll down for specific details for your region.

When you arrive...
Take a deep breath...park your car, gather your team and come to the Registration table BEFORE you unload your props.  You will receive a Celebration Registration Packet for your team, including a map and a Holding Room assignment.  You will also receive directions to the designated unloading zone(s).

Holding Rooms
Your holding room assignment will be on the packet you receive at registration. It is expected that teams will be supervised in these rooms.  The rooms are for your props and the contents of the rooms should not be disturbed. Valuable items should not be left in rooms at any time. The schools are not responsible for lost items. All holding rooms must be cleaned and put back to rights before Closing Ceremonies can begin.

Name Tags
All Team members and team managers are expected to wear name tags throughout the day (with the exception of the time they are presenting their Team Challenge solution). You will find your names tags in your registration packet.  Team members must always be under adult supervision.

Team Pictures

Premier Portraits will be on site to take a picture of each team.  The pictures are taken right after the team's IC and they are ready within minutes.  Each team will receive one complimentary picture for their school.  Additional pictures can be ordered if desired, click here to download order form.

Forms
All teams are required to have 5 copies of their Tournament Data Form, 2 copies of their Declaration of Independence, and 1 copy of their Expense Report Form. The exception is Chorific! which is not required to have an Expense Report.

Food Services
The cafeteria will be open for morning snacks and lunch.  Snacks will be available throughout the day.  Please remember food is allowed ONLY in the cafeteria.

Souvenirs
Souvenirs will be available at all Regional Celebrations.  We will be offering T-Shirts, hats, mugs, window decals and trinket items, prices range from $1 to $15.

Team Manager Influence
All teams who come to the tournament and present their challenges are already winners. We all know the hours of diligence, patience, and hard work that have been employed. The mission of Destination Imagination  is to foster the development of creative thinking and problem solving skills. As you have guided your team(s) to their solution, you have used teamwork and cooperation. Please remember to use these skills throughout  the long Celebration day. You may want to bring card games and other entertainments to occupy your team while they are waiting.  Make sure you check out many of the solutions other teams have devised.

Scoring
The team manager and one team member receive the raw scores and stickie notes from their Central Challenge as soon as possible following their team’s presentation. Instant Challenge scores are not disclosed until after the closing ceremony. The highest raw scores among all the teams competing against each other is converted to the maximum number of points and the remaining team’s raw scores are adjusted  accordingly.  If the team manager wishes to question or appeal the Central Challenge scores, initial contact must be made within 30 min. after the scores are received by letting the Challenge Master know that you have a concern. A SUBJECTIVE score cannot be appealed, but may be discussed.  OBJECTIVE scores may be appealed and the Challenge Master will get back to you as soon as possible when they have time between events.
Copies of the scores for each challenge will be posted after the Closing Ceremony. They will also be posted at the createme.org website the next day

Who Goes on to States?
The top two highest scoring teams from each challenge at each level from each region will be invited to go on to our State Celebration on April 19th at the University of Maine in Orono.  Maine has one Wild Card for Globals.  This allows us to send one second place team to Globals.  The Wild Card will go to the Team Challenge and Level which has the highest number of registrations and thus the most competition in the State.

Inclement Weather
Rescheduling due to inclement weather is not a possibility
due to facility constraints.  Decisions regarding safety of travel are the responsibility of the Team Manager and parents.

Regional Celebration schedules will be posted about a week prior to the Celebration.
